After a career in the City, John moved into the youth sector where he has been working for more than ten years. Previous roles have been with the HM Prison Service and the Youth Justice Board. John joined the Archway Project in August 2007 and enjoys seeing the positive impact that the charity has on the lives of its members.

Carole Payne has worked for the Archway Project since 2000, previously supporting young people with learning disabilities in education. Carole says that the highlight of her working day is when she gets to sit down with members and colleagues over lunch – to have a chat and enjoy a nice meal cooked by the young people.

Neil spent most of his teenage years at the project, where he learnt motorcycle mechanics and got the off roading bug. He then studied motor vehicle body repair before working in the trade. Neil returned to the Archway Project as a volunteer in 2003 before going full time and working his way up to Operations Manager. Neil says he’d like to see the charity grow so that more young people in London can have access to the service and support it provides.

Will Page joined the charity when a young person in 1995 and has never left! He began as a volunteer and has worked his way up the ladder, heading up operations in Sidcup. A skilled off road rider, Will has competed in races for more than ten years.

Chas volunteered for the project for two years before joining in 2009 from Sky, where he was a Project Manager and had been working for nine years. Chas, a keen off road biker, says that the role is perfect for him because he gets to do everything that he enjoys in life – cooking, mechanics and riding motorbikes. In his youth Chas raced Mini’s and has recently renovated a campervan.

David started at Archway Project whilst studying for his youth work degree and liked it so much he made it his mission to work here. David’s interest in youth work started in 2004; David was vice chair of the youth work council and realised he enjoyed organising youth work events and making a difference to young lives. David says Archway is like family and working there brightens up his day.
Max started when he was 11 years old on our junior group, he graduated to our senior course and became a peer mentor. Now one of the team Max is an off-road rider and a star mechanic.
Rodney has been involved with the Archway Project since 2007. Rodney joined our community workshop and has never looked back. Rodney likes helping new members settle and loves our annual summer camp. His song and dance routinearound the camp fire is now legendary. Rodney says the Archway Project has really helped me change my life.
Chloe – Michelle Olding Chloe volunteers as a part-time admin assistant and works in the office two days a week. Chloe joined the Archway Project in November 2009, took place in the Archway to Erzberg project and has now become a member of the staff team. Chloe says when I joined I was a novice rider with little mechanical knowledge. I now own a dirt bike, won my first Enduro race and help in the workshop.
Jesse has been a member of the Archway project since 2008, after joining the community workshop Jesse quickly developed a naturally smooth riding style. He has competed in a number of Enduro races and even managed to finish a 12 hour race. Jesse would like to work at Archway full-time, he says Archway is the best. I really like helping out.
